New York's magnificent building at the Pan-American Exposition is to be opened formally on Tuesday, August 6, with appropriate ceremonies which will take place in the building in the morning.

Hon. Daniel N. Lockwood, chairman of the New York State Board of Managers, Hon. J. Sloat Fassett of Elmira, Erie County legislators and former legislators who aided in securing the $300,000 appropriation by the State for Pan-American purposes, and the officials of the Buffalo Historical Society, to which organization the building is to be given after the Exposition, will be among the speakers.

The New York State Building has been in use for several weeks, but this occasion will mark its formal opening. It should be borne in mind, however, that as far as this State is concerned, New York Day, September 18,is to be the big day of the Exposition period. It is expected that there will be at least 150,000 New York State people there on that day.

Invitations have been issued, personally, to the various State, county and city officials, and acceptances have been received from many of them. An effort will be made to have the entire National Guard of the State in Buffalo on that date.
