The spring bulbs were removed after their show and the beds replanted with annuals grown in 2 large greenhouses on the grounds, as well as brought in from other local propagating houses. Over 50 nurserymen and florist firms provided the trees, shrubs, bulbs, and plant material; notice the plaques giving them credit. Names include Atlee Burpee, Park Floral of Denver, Ellwanger & Barry of Rochester, and a young firm from Newark, New York named Jackson and Perkins. It is not unusual to find nursery firms spending $10,000 on their displays ($200,000), as did the Peter Henderson Company of New York.
