It’s dinner time and the restaurant at Alt Nurnberg on the Midway
has reservations for us. People call the Midway the “play side
of the fair”, some call it “that artery of mirth and sound,”
others decry it as corrupting, but everyone who visits the Exposition
seems to want to see the Midway first. Alt Nurnberg, or ‘Old
Nurenberg’, is the creation of Jacob Schoellkopf and other wealthy
Buffalo German-Americans. Let's walk to the peaked tower just visible
in the distance.
