In addition to the very familiar spring flowers you recognize from your own garden at home, the Exposition officials wanted to include plants from central and South America, giving a tropical appeal. Palms have been brought in from California and even banana trees. Mexico has created a large garden of 50 different kinds of cacti. All of the gardens are meticulously maintained and plants that have passed their prime are promptly replaced with new ones.
