The Exposition planners wanted everyone to enter the formal Exposition grounds by crossing this Triumphal Bridge. Each pylon is 40 by 50 feet and, and stands 149’ tall, including the statue atop each. There is nowhere else on the grounds where the national message is so clear as with this. The designer plainly said that he wanted to illustrate our “national power and glory.”
