George Inness

George Inness died in 1894 and was one of a short list of deceased artists whose works were displayed
in the Art Building. The painting was in the possession of the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy in 1901. For the
story of how it was acquired, look here. Today, the painting is owned by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in
Buffalo, New York.
