Last fall 500,000 bulbs were planted and this May there were tulip, hyacinth, and crocus blooming not only in 15 beds here but across the grounds. Also planted last fall were 500 cedar trees, 100 species of evergreen, hardly perennials, shrubs. And, in temporary ponds on the edge of the east and west mirror lakes and inlets, hardy water lilies.
